Calm Classroom is a simple and accessible way to integrate mindfulness into the classroom culture. We define mindfulness as our ability to pay attention to our present moment experience with a kind and open attitude. The daily practice of mindful breathing, stretching, focusing and relaxation exercises cultivates a greater sense of self-awareness, mental focus and emotional resilience within educational spaces.

Stress in the classroom affects everyone. We believe that when students and teachers take short breaks throughout the day to relax and re-energize their bodies and minds, the classroom community can thrive. Our scripted techniques allow students and teachers to learn mindfulness-based skills together as a class, for just 3 minutes, 3 times per day.

Luster Learning Institute (LLI) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2007 by husband and wife team Jai and Joy Luster. The Calm Classroom program was born out of Jai and Joy's longtime love of mindfulness, and their passion for sharing the practice with children and adults. In 2008 Calm Classroom launched in Chicago Public Schools, and as of 2018 the program has been implemented in thousands of classrooms all over the world.
